Baptisms

Holy Baptism is one of two sacraments in the Lutheran Church.  Through baptism, God offers us grace.  In our baptism, we become a part of God's family, members of the Church which is Christ's body on earth.  Baptism is not something we do for God, but rather something that God does for us and in us, through water and the Word.  Christians are called to a daily life of living as God's children through baptism.

Because baptism is the means by which we become members of the body of Christ, Baptism usually takes place within a Sunday worship service, a gathering of the body of Christ.  During worship, members of St. John's welcome the newly baptized into our wonderful fellowship and promise to support them in their new life in Christ.

If you desire baptism for yourself or for your child, please contact the pastor by calling the church office at (864) 583-8167.
